How strong are the clasps? Our Handmade UK Classic lead has an auto-lock carabiner which has been independently tested up to 400kg. The Brass clasp (73mm) has been tested up to 188kg. The breaking point cannot be calculated as there are so many variables ( lead length, weight of lunging dog, speed of lunging dog etc.). However the fixings and clasps have been chosen to overestimate 'normal' conditions to provide a high level of safety. As with any lead or collar you are urged to check for wear, tear and damage of the equipment regularly.
-
Why do you use PVC coated webbing for the longlines?PVC coated webbing has all of the same qualities that BioThane® has, but with a slightly different feel of the material and price point. Due to the long lengths required for longlines using BioThane® would make them very expensive. However if you would prefer your longline in BioThane® rather than PVC coated webbing please use the contact us form and we can do this for you.
